Star Trek :: essays research papers

"Star Trek" A ChronicleSpace... the final frontier. These are the voyages of the Starship"Enterprise." Its continuing mission to explore strange bran-newworlds... to seek out new life and new civilizations... to boldlygo where no one has gone before...The above blurb has been used to introduce the tv set showStar Trek The Next Generation. The shows run has elapsed that ofits predecessor, the original Star Trek. The original spawned half a dozenmovies and endless conventions, and both have given elbow room to actionfigures for children, national clubs, and other variousparaphernalia. This is the chronicle to end all chronicles thefull analysis and timeline of one of the most popular televisionprograms in coeval American history.Americans are fascinated with the possibility of intelligent lifesomewhere else in the universe this has been displayed in booksand plays and movies too numerous t o mention, not to mention theaccounts of " habitual people" who say that they have encounteredaliens and unidentified flying objects (UFOs). This fascinationbecame so great that in the late 1970s, President Carter decidedto launch an investigation within NASA (the National Aeronauticsand Space Administration) to uncover the mystery of UFOs andintelligent life in the universe.Science fiction plays upon this obsession. The great sciencefiction writers have send our imaginations into overload withscores of stories to tell. The two most popular futuristic sciencefiction stories, Star Trek and Star Wars, both have similarcharacteristics. two involve many different species of life (ournearest equivalent would be "races"). The Ferengi, Vulcans, humans, Betazoids, Klingons, Romulans, Cardassians, androids, andBjorans are in the Star Trek series (which includes the originaltelevision series, the six movies, the NextGeneration televisionseries, and the television series Deep Space Nine), while the StarWars movie trilogy includes humans, Wookies, Jawas, Ewoks, droids,Tusken Raiders, and a host of various other strange and exotic looking at lifeforms. Each species has its own heritage, customs, beliefs, and socioeconomic status. I am sure that each sciencefiction storyline has its own unusual breed of lifeform, but this newsprint will examine only a particular science fiction storylinewhich has mushroomed into a cultural obsession. I choose not tofocus on the works of Ray Bradbury and the like Im sure thatthey are superb writers. (A fantastic example is Bradburys "ASound of Thunder," which is the probable predecessor to all oftodays hype border the film Jurassic Park and the childrenscharacter Barney the dinosaur.) However, Ive never heard of a RayBradbury convention, or action figures based on characters hescreated.Star Trek appeared in the right place at the right time.

These decisions can show what a person believes in right from the start. In Mark Twains The Adventures of huckleberry Finn the main character Huck, makes two very heavy moral decisions. The first being how he treats Jim when he first meets him at Jacksons Island and the second is to tear up the letter to Miss Watson out of his love for Jim.   When Huck first runs away from Pap he goes to Jacksons Island and thinks that he is the only person thither. He soon finds out that this is not true, and that Miss Watsons Jim(41) is taking refuge there as well. Many people would hate to be alone on an island with a nigger(43), but Huck is instead happy to have soul to converse with. At first Jim thinks he sees Hucks ghost and is petrified. Huck eases Jims feelings by changing the subject and saying Its good daylight, l es get breakfast(41), showing that Huck is not only real but he does not mind that Jim is black. Jim feels that Huck might tell on him for racecourse away, but he thus decides that it will be okay to tell him why he ran away from Miss Watson. Jim keeps asking Huck if he is going to tell anyone about his running away, and Huck replies People would call me a low down abolitionist and despise me for keeping mum but that dont make no difference I aint gonna tell(43). Hucks response truly shows that his ignorance has no bearing over his moral kindness. When taken into consideration good morality is much more important in the long run than being the most intelligent person. After journeying with Jim for quite some time Huck begins to feel bad about harboring a runaway slave. He decides to write a letter to Miss Watson explaining the whole story, because Jim had been sold and he does not know where he is. The Scarlet Letter Essay examples -- essays research papers

Hester Prynne The Ultimate Feminist HeroineIn Nathaniel Hawthornes American classic The Scarlet letter the main character Hester Prynne is portrayed as the preeminent feminist heroine through the portraiture of her crime and punishment. In this novel, a Puritanical society in reinvigorated England condemns Hester Prynne to wear a highly embossed depiction of the letter A on her breast as punishment for an act of adultery. How Hester handles the consequences of her castigation is what brings about the sublime feministic qualities of the main character. Three aspects that corroborate Hester Prynnes qualities are 1. Admitting her sin openly to fellow man and God, 2. Putting up with the taunting and social exile of her punishment, and 3. draw a bead on above her torment to give love to her lady friend Pearl and Pearls father, Reverend Dimmesdale.Hester Prynne openly admits her sin to fellow man and God. From the first few pages of the book, we are confronted with the fact that Hester has mothered a child without being legally betrothed in marriage. When the townspeople nonice that Hester has broken wholeness of Gods laws, she is coerce to stand in the middle of the town square upon a scaffold for a period of three hours, all for the purpose of public humiliation. Since adultery is one of the highest crimes that a mortal can commit in a Puritanical society, a tribunal quickly forms to decide that fate of the young malefactor. All the while, it could hold in been possible for Hester to abandon the baby to save herself from public torment and possibly the penalty of death. Nonetheless, Hester faces up to the reality of her acts and takes direct responsibility for them. To go even further, she does not even reveal the father of her illegitimate child for fear that he may suffer a fate worse than her own, which would most certainly be death. At the end of the period of time that she had to serve upon the scaffold, a crowd decides her punishment which was to wear the depiction of The Scarlet Letter on her breast.Hester Prynne must be sick up with the taunting and social exile of her punishment from the second after she was condemned. The townspeople would consider her as an untouchable heathen who only only air negative, evil energy. Children would be afraid of both Hester and Pearl as they c... ... At the beginning of the novel when Hester is standing on the scaffolding, she does not reveal the secret that Dimmesdale urgently wants her to keep the secret of his wrongful fathering of Pearl. Hester puts herself through much more stress than she needs to by not revealing this secret over a heptad long years, but her love for Dimmesdale is the only strong evidence that keeps her from revealing it.It has been thoroughly justified that in The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne, Hester Prynne is portrayed as the ultimate feminist heroine through the delineation of her crime and punishment. How Hester handles the consequences of her chastise ment is what brings about the heroic feministic qualities of Hester as the main character. The viewpoints that corroborate Hester Prynnes qualities are 1. Admitting her sin openly to fellow man and God, 2. Putting up with the taunting and extreme social exile of her punishment, and 3. Aspiring above her torment to give love, care and support to her daughter Pearl and Pearls illegitimate father, Reverend Dimmesdale. Hester Prynne is the absolute epitome of a feminist heroine in all of American literature.

On Time in particular was not too long ago. I work at Subway and we had some Mexicans come in. They didnt speak a bit of English and neither my coworker nor I spoke any Spanish. There were about 10 Mexicans wanting food and there were only two of us trying to figure out what they were telling us they wanted. It was funny, they were pointing at the signs trying to tell us what they wanted, but as you probably know there are a lot of different sandwiches on each sign. So, we were not getting nowhere thatway. I just started making them random sandwiches, they didnt seem to care. This situation could have been prevented if my coworker and I knew some Spanish, or if the Mexicans would have known some English.

Mid-term Exam Essay

What were some of the changes that took place in Europe in the midst of the years 1000 and 1492, and why did those changes lead to European exploration and oversea expansion? From Leif Eriksson being the first European to sail to North the States to Marco Polo making his first trip to china were the few things that were going on in the European discovery. During the 1100 the crusades joined the holy fight to regain capture of Palestine which was taken away by the Muslims. As the crusades war was going on, the Europeans introduced new and foreign goods to such as spices, silk and jewels. This opened up a whole new opportunity for the Europeans as the demands and the trade grew, Ships were departing from towns in Italy and Asia. Christopher Columbus discovered North American in 1492.Columbus sailed east from Europe trying to find a route to the east. He failed to sail east because of the landmass that was in his way. Columbus opine he sailed to India because of the landmass and cal led the land the West Indies and the people he found on that point as Indians. This led to the exploration and overseas expansion to North America from Europe. The expansion grew as the growth of expanding trade grew out of Europe. The discovery of the New World took a rise as the transfer of plants, animals diet demanded the human population to expand. All these things that took place from 1000-1492 changed Europe forever. The demands in trade gave Europeans the opportunity for new forms of employment and ability to travel out of Europe for work. What were the study(ip) problems facing American leaders during the 1780s? What were the main weaknesses of the Articles of Confederation? How did those weaknesses pr eveningt the new organisation from dealing with the new nations major problems? How did the Constitution of 1787 diverge the structure and operation of the case government to to a greater extent effectively deal with those problems? This period was called the Critical P eriods, it was a time right after the American novelty war that took place in 1783. George Washington became the president of this time in 1789. After the war the economic problems just grew. The British navy destroyed virtually of the American shipsand also taking over there flow of trade. The farmers suffered tremendously due to the army steeling from their farms in order to eat.Once the war was over in 1781 the exports to Brittan was restricted, British created a law that prohibited trade with the remaining sugar colonies that were in the Caribbean. The articles of confederation was a document signed by all 13 original colonies that put together the United States of America. The confederation left most of the power to the state governments. The weaknesses of the Articles of Confederation was that the states could not be forced by the government to obey its laws. Also it did not have the power to enforce any type of laws. The congress lacked the strong leadership and there was n o system of national courts. In order for a change to be made to the articles 9 out of the 13 states had to approve the law before it could be passed on with no army to protect the nation.Compare and contrast the northern, middle, and southern colonies by 1760. What experiences were unifying the colonies? How were the British colonies different from Spains colonies? All three colonies had major differences in there economic activity and their culture. The resentment of the British held them together as they were suffering hard times as Brittan kept on restraining trade, shipping and manufacturing. The Northern Colonies was largely religious. Even though religion was practiced more in the Southern Colonies, a lot of people from the north were still very religious. Instead, there main focus was never on gaining wealth. The South was mostly agricultural and a big part of the workers were African American slaves. Tabaco was the main export of the Southern thriftiness. In the Northern C olonies farming was usually just done to provide just for the family. The economy of New England, Northern, and colonies was based on the rivers and forests for the most part and the southern colonies were more focused on farming. There are only a couple of similarities and differences in the colonies. People beginning a new life for themselves was a coincidence both regions had. These regions were founded for many different reason including political freedom, religion, conquest and economy. The British colonies were recruited from farmers, artisans and tradesmen. Immigrants from other countries were welcomed. In the Spanish colonies it contained more soldiers, conquistadores and mission Aries were the primary acknowledgment of people. The farmers and traderscome at a later date. The government for the English colonies allowed colonist to set up local governments and representative assemblies and to make believe sure to tax themselves as long as they did not take up arms against t he crown. In the Spanish colonies they were governed by the crown appointed governors. The settlers had to obey the laws the king set since the settlers could make laws on their own. The religion for the English was mostly non-Catholics. The puritans in Massachusetts established an autocratic and restrictive religious leadership. For the Spanish colonies the settlers were restricted to Catholics. The people that protested were persecuted and driven out. The economy on the British colony was rice, tobacco, timber and fish. The economic activities were farming, trading and also fishing. In the Spaniard colonies it was a more largely trading economy. It was controlled by the Spaniards and the board of trade. What major challenges did Americans face during the War for Independence, and how did they overcome those challenges and defeat Great Britain? The British always seemed unbeatable. During the previous 100 years, the British had enjoyed victory after victory from countries that were powerful the like Spain and France. The odds never looked good for the Americans on this war. Brittan had the best forces in the world, their soldiers were well fed, paid good money and also well disciplined. The British military was also very well equipped unlike the American. Funds were so much easily raised by the empire then by the Continental congress. A lot of those funds were used to hire Hessian Mercenaries to fight of the Americans. The Americans always had a difficult time being able to raise teeming funds to purchase the basic supplies for the troops like shoes and blankets. The British always had a winning tradition, most Indians sided with Brittan who promised them protection over their land. The downfall for the Brittan was that they were chip a war that was far from home. Their supplies that they needed sometimes took months to reach their destination. The British objective for this war to persuade the American to give up their claims for license. Americans were fighting for their rights, independence and liberty. The soldiers and the leaders were unexperienced but always seemed competent. This war was very expensive, this war gave Americans courage which gave Americans a favor.Describe and explain the roles played by loyalists, African Americans, women, and American Indians during the extremist War. How did the outcome of the war affect them? The principle is this was freedom which motivated the black slaves to join the Patriot or the British army. Approxitmaly 5 percent of the American soldiers in the battle of Bunker Hill were black. They received the same pas as whites although they never held a high rank. The blacks in the war served in integrated units. An estimated 100, 00 African Americans died or were killed during the war. They thought the concept of victimisation slaves in the army would mean that the economy would collapse without slavery. Women in the revolutionary war took many different roles. They were nurses, cooks and ma ids and sometimes even secret soldiers and spies. Many of the women nurses were camp followers, wives, daughters and even mothers of the soldiers. The most common role the women played were cooks, maids, laundresses and water bearers for the army. This was the first time women took a role in the war since these duties were reserved for male soldiers. Women were not allowed to serve in the military but they still served as secret soldiers. They would disguise themselves by cutting their hair and using masculine names to blend in. A lot of the motivation for joining the army is unknown but most of these women were poor and needed to earn money for their families. They also worked as spies, most of the female spies worked as maids or cooks for the British and had a lot of insight about the movements, military plans and supply shortages and the deliveries. The loyalist support the British. They were mostly older, educated and wealthier than most Americans. The life for the loyalist was d ifficult during the war. Loyalist who lived in the area that was being controlled by the patriots lost their businesses and homes. After the war was over a lot of them lost their fortunes and their land. The British government paid them for their loyalty, but it was not nearly as much as they had lost. Many of the Indians had to choose between the loyalist and patriots or somehow try to maintain a neutral stance. They had issues trying to hold their homelands as well as try to maintain admission charge to trade supplies as war was in there lands too. On September 4, 1783 the peace treaty of Paris was signed.SourcesAn Encyclopedia of American Women at War From the mob Front to the Battlefields Lisa Tendrich Frank 2013 Women Soldiers, Spies, and Patriots of the American Revolution Martha Kneib 2004 The Revolutionary War Charles Patrick Neimeyer 2007National Womens History Museum The American Revolution http//www.nwhm.org/online-exhibits/spies/2.htm phalanx.Mil Early History of Wome n in the U.S. Army http//www.army.mil/women/history.html United States Army Early Women Soldiers http//www.army.mil/women/history.html History.org Womens Service in the Revolutionary Army http//www.history.org/history/teaching/enewsletter/volume7/nov08/women_revarmy.cfm

Emotion language term paper Essay

The struggles between happiness, triumph and rejoicedness1.IntroductionThe notion of happiness can be characterized by threesome separate prototypes, which all key to happiness but each approaches the concept of happiness from a s crystallisely different meaning. The differences reveal mainly in the intensity of the emotion. Therefore it is very elicit how these differences appear in the English manner of speaking. It is important to see these differences because our society is based on happiness and to reach the main goal of ones manners it is keen to check the differences in the conceptualisations of happiness.2.The three prototypesThe source domain of the three prototypes are taken from the class notes of Emotion Language, from the study of Zoltn Kvecses Emotion concepts from happiness to guiltinessA cognitive semantic perspective and definitions form answers.com.The first prototype is called rejoicefulness which according to answers.com is an intense and especiall y ecstatic or exultant happiness and the expression or manifestation of such feeling. In other words, wallow covers an immediate response of happiness. This means that this word is used to represent a sudden feeling that is self-enabling and comes from inwardly .The next type is called the existential happiness which is a major value in life that people want to reach. This is a general feeling almost beingness felicitous, thitherfore it is expressed by the word happiness. In Answers.com this word is described as an agreeable feeling or condition of the soul arising from good fortune or propitious happening of any kind the possession of those tidy sum or that state of being which is attended with enjoyment the state of being happy contentment joyful satisfaction felicity blessedness. The last type of happiness is comfort, which is the less intense out of the three types. According to answers.com the word glad is experiencing or exhibiting joy and pleasure. This feeling can be ex plained in other words like gratifying, welcome, very willing, bright and cheerful.3.The major differences in meaningAccording to the Internet joy and happiness are more commonly occur in the same context than joy and glad or happiness and glad so there are a number of studies and articles close to happiness versus joy. The reason for this on the one divide is that they fuddle a close relation in meaning so it is not as univocal therefore many people does not recognize the differences or has improper thoughts about it. On the other part glad seems to be clearly terminated in meaning in the usage of the English language.Accordingly, there are many conceptualizations about the differences between joy and happiness on the Internet. On the one hand, in a forum about happiness, the opinion of a person named Suviko was joy is something you feel shortly, temporary moment, a passing good feeling. mirth is having that for longer issue of time and it is more general, not as much targete d feeling . This explanation perfectly reflects the differences between joy and the existential happiness according to the study of Kvecses. But as it appears in some articles on the net profit, this is not the only realization that is considered as the concept of happiness and joy.On the other hand, there is an essay about happiness versus joy which claims that happiness is fleeting and it comes from the fulfillment of ones desires, therefore happiness is dependent upon something period joy can be continuous and it comes from within . The main difference between the two conceptualization is the quantity of the feeling. In the first statement the age of the feeling of joy takes less time than happiness while in the second statement joy lasts for longer. This proves that there are some differences in the conceptualization of the first two prototypes of happiness. Besides the differences the main idea about the intensity of the two prototypes reflects everywhere that happiness is m ore intense. In his study Vic Lebouthillier writes that happiness comes from circumstances like buying a new car or passing an exam while joy is rather appears as inner thankfulness for the constants of life such as nature, freedom, relationships with people, or through having faith in something larger than ourselves . It is also mentioned that happiness is an automatic reaction of people for the happenings of the outside world. In contrast, joy does notcome automatically, it is a learned reaction that people have to practice to live a complete emotional life. This occlusions to the fact that the main point in most of the articles on the internet is based on this idea It is important to understand that joy is an emotion that arises from within us and is not modify by the things that happen to us. Instead of looking for external things to provide happiness in our lives, we must strive to regulate the joy within. We must edu framee ourselves about joy and work to enhance it in our li ves.Gladness is the less intense emotional feeling from the three prototypes of happiness. In The Free Dictionary webpage it is pointed out that Glad a lot refers to the feeling that results from the gratification of a wish or from satisfaction with immediate circumstances Some folks rail against other folks, because other folks have what some folks would be glad of atomic number 1 Fielding .In another conceptualization gladness is rarely or never equivalent to mirth, merriment, gayety, and triumph, and it commonly expresses less than delight .According to these statements, it can be asserted that gladness is not only the less intense but it also lasts for the less period of time.Another proof for this can be found in an essay of Margaret Paul where she discusses the differences between happiness and pleasure, and where pleasure is a synonym for gladness. She points out that pleasurable experiences can give us momentary feelings of happiness, but this happiness does not last long because it is dependent upon external events and experiences .4.Differences in language usageThe English language is rich in the metaphors and metonymies about the three prototypes of happiness. The source domain of this section is from Zoltan Kvecses Emotion concepts from happiness to guilt A cognitive semantic perspective. joy (existential happiness)Most of the happiness metaphors found on the internet come from quotations, poems and a lower percent can be found in non literary texts. Using the mappings of Kvecses I listed some of the metaphors that I found with the help of Google1. transport is a fluid in acontainer Happiness is a positive cash flow. Fred Adler2. Happiness is warm Happiness is a warm gun The Beatles3. Happiness is insanity Sanity and happiness are an impossible combination. Mark Twain4. Happiness is light Happiness is a Swedish sunset it is there for all, but most of us look the other way and lose it. Mark Twain5.Happiness is up assay to bump up our happ iness Steven Winn6. Happiness is an animal Happiness is a butterfly, which when pursued, is always just beyond your grasp, but which, if you will sit down quietly, whitethorn alight upon you Nathanial Hawthorne7. Happiness is a rapture We pretended we could get drunk on root beer, and sometimes on those July nights, I think we were. Drunk with happiness. Lisa LibowitzJoyInterestingly I could find a larger number of metaphors or metonymies on the internet than about joy in non literary articles rater than literary texts. Therefore, in contrast to happiness, it was harder to find metaphors that could belong to the list of Zoltn Kvecses.1.Joy is fluid in a container then you will look and be radiant, your warmness will throb and swell with joy The Holly Bible (Isaiah 605-11)a place of joy and peace so full that you need nothing else2.Joy is being off the ground Now I know when your house gets destroyed you wont be jumping for joy.3.Joy is warm A blush of joy mantled on Lizzies face, and her heart swelled with happiness John Quine (The Captain of the Parish)4.Joy is vitality As I watch my grandmother tickle and play with the kids, I see her eyes light up with joy. Jennifer Mallett5.Joy is opponent in a struggle When her sick friend saw her, she was overcome with joy.6.Joy is a natural force Ill onslaught your soul with the joy of cleanliness and the joy of discipline, which will redound to your good forever.7.Joy is a rapture Inner success Freedom from the identification with the mind and movement towards the ecstasy of the Truth . This will lead us towards our inner joy8.Joy is up He who kisses the joy as it flies. Lives in Eternitys sunrise. William BlakeOne of the greatest joys known to man is to take a flight into ignorance in search of knowledge Robert Lynd9.Joy is light The sun does not shine for a few trees and flowers, but for the wide worlds joy. Henry Ward BeecherGladnessIt was the hardest to find metaphors or metonymies on gladness. I found that t he word glad is often used in religious terms on the internet but these were not expressed by metaphors ormetonymies rather it refers to the loving of God and it follows that it is expressed on a very simple way.1.Gladness is light Our brightest blazes of gladness are commonly kindled by unexpected sparks. Samuel JohnsonLight up your face with gladness Judy Garland2.Gladness is fluid in a container A kind heart is a fountain of gladness, making everything in its vicinity freshen into smiles. Washington IrvingMay God fill your heart with gladness to cheer you. Irish Blessing3.Gladness is being in oasis Nations and men are only the best when they are the gladdest, and deserve heaven when they enjoy it. Jean Paul Friedrich Richter5.ConclusionSumming up the above, there are differences between the three conceptualizations of happiness in meaning and it also turned out that people are interested in these questions because it is important to understand these to live a happy life.We a lso saw that the linguistic usage of happiness and joy are very similar to each other they still have that slight difference in meaning. From this point of view gladness metaphors were less frequent and were not as similar to the other two.BIBLIOGRAPHYZoltn Kvecses Emotion concepts from happiness to guilt A cognitive semantic perspectivewww.answers.comhttp//www.kjmaclean.com/HappinessvsJoy.htmlhttp//www.tfproject.org/tfp/archive/index.php/t-7099.htmlhttp//www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?file=/c/a/2007/03/07/DDGLBOFSL11.DTLhttp//thinkexist.com/quotation/happiness_is_a_butterfly-which_when_pursued-is/169068.htmlhttp//www.tiny-lights.com/flash.html?id=20http//www.calvin.edu/admin/chapel/worship/chapel/Isaiah60/wealth.htmhttp//www.light-up-your-life.com/http//www.isle-of-man.com/manxnotebook/fulltext/cp1897/chap104.htmhttp//cancerweb.ncl.ac.uk/cgi-bin/omd?gladnesshttp//www.entplaza.com/cgi-bin/create/quotes.pl?cat=Happinesshttp//www.entplaza.com/cgi-bin/create/quotes.pl?cat=Happiness http//www.thefreedictionary.com/gladnesshttp//www.caringtoday.com/node/296http//www.4to40.com/story/index.asp?id=480tophttp//www.timesandseasons.org/index.php?p=2582http//www.meditationerfan.com/Happiness_vs.htmlhttp//www.dailycelebrations.com/joy.htmhttp//www.dailycelebrations.com/joy.htmhttp//www.dailycelebrations.com/jo

Sarah was trying to impress these friends by doing things she had never done. The ways Sarah displayed cognitive dissonance was her excitement of having new friends, and doing mostthing different, that at the same mime she was uneasy about going to the party because she knew she should be home and was confused that she may pee caught, and get Into trouble with her p atomic number 18nts.She still had fun at the party and was glad that she went, still she still knew she should have been at home, and should have obeyed her parents rules. Sara conformed to her peers beliefs by going to the party with them. They told her how overmuch fun she would have, and she would be missing out if she did not g o. Sara gave into peer pressure. Even though she knew this would cause problems with her parents, she anted her new friends to like her. That is why she gave into the peer pressure.Sara also had the excitement of going to the party. She had never been to a party forrader and was excited as well as curious. These are related to the factors of attraction. Physical attraction because Jack said Sara was beautiful. Proximity because Jack and Sara lives n the same neighborhood.Similarity because they found out they have the same taste In music, and had some of the same hobbles. trespass was the type of social Interaction displayed through the fight at the party. The aggression started as yelling, and quickly move into a physical fight. We are no t sure what started the fight. It could have been a case of bullying, alcohol may have been concern as well. There were also teens from different spinsterhood at the party. This could be an issue If one is from a founder part of town, so he thinks he may be better than the teen that does not have as much. Social even Sara and her friends. Up to the point of the fight, everyone was having a nice time at the party, provided that stopped almost everyones good time. Sarahs behavior was mostly influenced by her friends almost all night long. commencement off when they wanted her to go to the party. Im sure she felt pressure, and wanted to fit in with her new friends. I believe that is why she said yes to them, and went to the party.Obviously Sara knows right from wrong, but at 15 years old, she succumbed to peer pressure. Teenagers are easily more in fluenced at this age because they want to fit in with their friends. Sara was worried about get caught, and getting into trouble with her parents, but she knew she always had listened her parents, and never got into trouble. This made her think it would be all right, and she would not get into much trouble if she went to the party because she had never been in trouble. Sara and her friends were influenced to leave the party because of the fight that bust out.If not for the fight, I am sure they would have stayed much longer. Looking back on the night, I am sure Sara may have had mixed emotions. Some positive, and some negative. On the positive she got to palpate her first party with her new friends, and she met a boy at the party. On the negative she probably allow her parents down by breaking curfew, and had them worried about her. Sara had to wonder if it were worth lying to her parents to have fun, or is her new friends, and the party more important. This is something Sara wil l need to have a look at in her life.
